And we can’t have that.
I’m willfully unemployed, have a lot of time on my hands, and was born with a genetic need to write. I’m blessed with a train-wreck of a back that I deal with, because what else, and I have multiple tabs open in my brain at all times, so society is clearly better off if I expend my energies at a computer rather than rattling around out in the greater world without adult supervision.

I’m an introvert who loves people in small doses, especially when I can make them laugh. I’m perfectly happy to spend days on end in my much-loved 4th-story loft with my books, computer, iPad and phone, and I like figuring out how technology works so I can do the things I want to do. In addition to a few good friends in the real world, I enjoy a rich social life via WordPress, Twitter, and Facebook.
One of the many sweet bonuses attached to marrying Kim is that he’s a great cook, so I surrendered my Suzy Homemaker credentials and turned into the princess I always wanted to be. Life is good.

Writing is a solitary hobby/profession, isn’t it? It’s clear that you, like me, really use the blogosphere to its fullest capacity. I’ve made so many dear friends through blogging. Who knew that would happen? In some ways, reading about others’ lives really helps you get to know them in a way that might not be possible in person. In conversation, we often stop listening and start thinking about what we are going to say next. That doesn’t happen when I’m reading someone’s blog. I just enjoy their words, their story.

I totally agree with your philosophy about writing and the blogosphere. Although writing can be very hard work if you do it right, it’s a wonderful perk that I get to retain my solitary status and still connect with fabulous people every single day!

I s’ppose Miss Patton shall remain unslapped, but now I’m curious as to what she knows about you. Do you have vast bookshelves filled with fancy pants scrapbooks? Do you crochet pot holders? Can you make a floral centerpiece entirely out of paperclips and a hole punch? Hmmm, people don’t hurl Martha Freaking Stewart insults at others for no reason. If you tell me you have an entire room dedicated to gift wrapping, I might suffer from the vapors and collapse.

If I told you what she has on me I’d have to kill you. For starters, I have nearly 1800 recipes on my Pinterest boards … and I don’t cook. Bottom line, I haven’t accumulated a Federal rap sheet yet, so Ms. Joy is clearly wrong about the MF Stewart thing. The rest of it shall remain my little secret … for now.

You may have lots of recipes, but you HUBBY cooks, so that’s entirely justifiable. It’s no different than having a drawer full of menus from local restaurants that deliver. There must be something else…but what? Hmmmmm.

I wouldn’t know. Matt does cook for me on occasion, but I don’t think he’s ever done all the planning, shopping, cooking and clean-up, but he DOES work full-time and I don’t, so I’m more than willing to give him some slack in that area. He is a great cook, though. I think he’s just a natural at it. I have to work very hard at it. 🙂

We usually have a whoever cooks doesn’t have to clean policy, but I still do most of the cleaning up. But I don’t mind; he works hard all day while I’m at home. He deserves a break most of the time. 🙂

One additional thing we have in common. My prince charming also does all the cooking. I’m allowed to feed and put out fresh water for the dogs. I gave up cooking when we married 27 years ago.

Thanks, Carrie! I think you have to pre-order a cook when you discuss potential husband material, which is what I did. It worked, so I’ve never argued with the method.
