Being a professional liar ain’t that easy! Actually, I”m not a professional anything, just very good at lying. Liked the list and that was no lie!

Ha! So true. I love number one because people do indeed put the word ‘little’ before the work. “Oh, how’s your little book coming along?”… What’s up with that? 🙂

It says, more than just about anything could, that they do not in any way take you seriously, and that nobody they actually KNOW could put out anything worth reading. A painful cut …

Thanks for this Judy! Some people just don’t get it. If only people who don’t or can’t create things would realize that so much that makes life interesting and enjoyable were made, drawn, written and envisioned by people who let their passion lead their careers. My ex husband is a good example. He thought my wanting to write was stupid, and had no problem rolling his eyes at me and belittling my dreams as well as my efforts. But, this is a person who loved movies and television. I guess he never realized that those things didn’t just “happen”. Someone had to write all of those movies and television shows he enjoyed so much.

I think that when it comes to the Arts in all the various iterations, you either get it or you don’t. And if you have to try to explain it to someone who’s supposed to care about you … meh. Pretty frustrating and demoralizing. It’s like trying to justify why you need oxygen. I know someone who’s going through that now, and it finally comes down to a choice between existing and living. Life’s awfully short …
