My beloved conservatory grand piano.  The pattern of the keys has been imprinted on my brain since the age of six.

Pianos so often evoke wonderful memories of people and events. Though possibly older than yours, mine still exerts a powerful reminder of the long ago. Thank you for sharing.

I started piano lessons at just under age 6, Maureen, on an old upright piano my grandparents found for us, and played a series of makes and models at home and all the way through college, where I was accompanist for a singing group on a USO Tour of the Caribbean. After Kim & I were married (almost nine years ago), we found this beautiful little conservatory grand in a music store and fell in love with the sound. It had been a floor model for over a year and they made me too sweet a deal on it to resist. We have 10-ft. ceilings and the lush tones of the piano just roll through the house and fill it with sound!
